You Don’t Say No To Real Madrid

By: Ale | May 22nd, 2008

madridronaldoImmediatly following his Champions’ League final victory with United, The Best Player in the World added some more fuel to the fire that is the Real Madrid transfer saga.

I don’t promise nothing, I don’t promise nothing to my mum, I don’t promise nothing to the supporters,” he said. “I want to stay, but the future … no one knows. I want to stay. We are going to see in the next two weeks, I don’t say I make a decision.

The Spanish media is eating all of this up of course, with Marca running the headline “I say ‘yes I do,’ Manchester United says ‘no you don’t'” over a picture of Ronaldo.

Just to put his 2 cents in, Ramon Calderon told Punto Radio “Players play where they want. If a player decides to leave, he can’t be stopped. Slavery was abolished some time ago.”

Personally I’d love to see him play in Spain (Hala Madrid), and his constant dodging of the question makes me think he’ll leave Old Trafford more and more every day. Plus, we’d all get to see alot more of Red Jesus vs The Messiah.

How do you think all of this this will play out? Will he want to continue his success with United or go abroad in search of a new challenge?

He’s not going to Real Madrid. It would be foolish of him to do so.

I think he’s just trying to get Manchester United to offer him a new contract.

It would be stupidity unlimited if he goes now…the good things at United are just starting now and even to think about going is plain absurd….Ferguson has built a team around him, that complements his style of play and helps him be as vibrant as he is rather than stifling him as would happen in many other teams…plus he has quite a bit of Portuguese speaking players/coaches around to keep him happy…plus he is just 23..its not like he was in an henry situation …where the player had to make the decision to leave or stay because of his age…a couple of years here and he still would be 25-26..in prime and with lot more experience to deal with the La Liga…
If he does want to leave I hope he renews his contract and then Madrid will pay like 150 million or something to get him..that would be fun! :D

Didnt Ronaldo get bullied by RVN at united? I believe he was involved in a fight a couple of times. I know they have met since, but still there has to be some tension. I personally think CR will wait a few years, I dont think Real are capable of winning anything in Europe, but may be able to in a few years time. Anderson and Nani are good friends to CR and they clearly have big futures, why would CR want to move when its possible that united can build on the CL win.

It probably makes good business sense for United to let him go to Real Madrid. It’s a tough call, but the bottom line usually wins out.
