Ronaldo’s performance today
By: Paul | January 11th, 2009Having watched all 90 minutes from the comfort of my apartment I was glad to see Ronaldo had a spark to him today that has been missing from the last few appearances. Ronaldo looked to have found himself on the scoresheet in the 45th minute only to have it disallowed by the lineman and Howard Webb. I’m not sure if it was the right call or not with no camera on Giggs taking the corner. Ronaldo again found himself unlucky by the linesman that wrongfully declared him offside.
Ronaldo also found himself on the end of a Ricardo Carvalho mugging inside the box but somehow got the foul called against him and got a yellow card for the yelling that took place between him and Ricardo.
Ronaldo was very instrumental in setting up the second and third Manchester United goal with a lovely backheel to an overlapping Evra and a blistering free kick that found the foot of Dimitar Berbatov.
Overall, I’m happy with the performance today as will most Manchester United fans and hope he can keep it up for the rest of the season.
