Evolving as a player

International break is upon us and Ronaldo will lead the Portuguese as they take on the Zlatan led Swedes this Saturday in Portugal.

I’m writing this post to discuss the evolution that I want to see of Ronaldos game, especially free kicks. I have been bothered when watching United games in the past month or so to see every free kick going directly into the wall. Ronaldo has scored some wonderful free kick goals over the course of his career but I think the time has come for him to take a different approach, maybe consisting of using more finesse tactic and not having a go on goal from 35 yards out. Let someone else do that and use your aerial skills to put the ball in the net.

Also, if you lose the ball then get your ass up and track back.

He does need to mature, but if you’re going to call someone a whiny bitch, Mat, at least spell it right.

Ronaldo won the Blackburn match for us with a gorgeous free kick, but I agree that the vast majority hit the wall and never give us a a real chance on goal.

United is in real danger of coming unraveled here at the end and Ronaldo needs to reach his potential if we’re to win the League. Is there enough time left in the season for him to change his style?
